Pantheon Arts Nexus
Connection and Engagement because we each Commune differently.
What is the PAN Commune?
The Pantheon Arts Nexus, or PAN Commune is a hybrid gathering of individual artists and creators, businesses and organizations, as well as networks who have optionally joined our shared spaces both in person and digitally. Our Discord is our Digital Nexus and ready to allow entry with safety, connection, and engagement in mind!
The Commune is nomadic with hybridized events ranging from activities like writing workshops, to pop-up art galleries, to recreational events that refresh our connection to Mother Earth, too. In all these ways we discover avenues to support our community in person and online. Whether Art and Culture, Tabletop Games and Recreation in Nature, or Science and Inquiry, we seek to support each in the Nexus!
The Nexus is meant to be a roving network that moves about the city, the idea is for it to search for you as much as your search for it - inclusivity being one of our core values, we seek other avenues (literally and metaphorically) to bring forth these sparks.
Pan, in Greek Mythology
Pan was said to be the God of the wild, who existed as a champion of the light of song, but also the more salacious parts of Spring. His temples did not subside within churches, but in the fields and high mountains on which He roamed.
And He would roam far to these places and bless the fields with song and revelry, and all that is one with His name’s root, as a guardian in his own right. The name Pan, is even composed of the words “ComPANion” and “guardian” from various languages that compose it.

Our version of Pan, is similar, but the flocks He tends are the artists and creatives that pray to His Eternal Spring of Light. He chooses to be a Prosocial Newposter of sorts, a Creative Crier, a Rapscallion Reporter of the Rupturing Light of the Worlds He visits - projecting His light and others’ into the fields He roams.
A Satyr of many hats and ways. This allows Him to have intimate knowledge of many worlds and people to tell their stories correctly, so He is a natural explorer, too, moving in and about the portals between these places to bring inspiration and merriment to His fellow Lightbringers.

What is a Host of Light?
A Host of Light is a fellow Non-Profit or a Business that would like to host our events or programming. We are building support for writing groups/workshops, pop-up galleries, readings, and any number of events that will rove from host to host throughout Portland and online!
Programming for PAN aka Nexus Commune Events!
Art and Culture, Tabletop Games and Recreation in Nature, or Science and Inquiry are the core focuses of the Nexus’ Programming.
We have lots of ideas and want to do them all with y’all, but it in order to do that, we’ll need Sparktenders to help build them out and facilitate them with us!
As long as the events and programming we build are focused on the topics above, we can pursue them under the banner of the Nexus, and invite you to join in the revelry!
Creation Moots!
Writers and other kinds of creators connect and engage in a low-key space to build up your content with allies to ask questions to!
Open Mics and Readings!
Poetry and verse, passages and song, comedy and inquiry, we seek them all in the awe of the open microphone. Whether trying it out, or seasoned to adventure, join us!
Book Reading Circles!
Digital or in person, we discover and read books that light the way. Enjoy the truth of another world in a reading circle!
Topic of the Span
With the right facilitator, a topic can expand your mind beyond what it was meant to, and that is the purpose of the topic of the span, a safe space of critical inquiry to salon.
Tabletop Learn to Plays and Hosting!
Driven by a love for tabletop gaming, we stem stories and legends yet to unfold with the help of our Hosts of Light. Whether learning, or coming back to play, we welcome you!
World Building for Stories!
Tabletop gaming and fantasy/sci-fi walk atop the same building blocks of creation and their foundations build in kind alongside those that tell the stories alongside us!
Critique and Feedback Groups!
“Steering the Craft” is never easy, and learning how to navigate those oceans is easier with help. With workshops designed by the master Le Guin, we aim for the stars.
Toolbox Talks and Trys
A creator and their tools! We hope to help others discover how to adventure in another medium, and we believe the best way is to do the tools and talk them out.
Collaborations and Faires!
Maker faires are something we’ve helped with, and with future and additional collaborations we would revel in the ability to provide operational support and ask our fellows on your behalf, as well - let’s cover the world in the light of creation!
Creator Mixers!
Creators meeting creators - connect, engage and collaborate alongside us to succeed in a system built to make us compete for shared space.
Take a Hike, and Write!
How could we, as those living in this beautiful region of the PNW not find some time to delve into the wild that is abounding - we take a hike and write in nature!
Word/Prompt Sprints!
Prime in November, these word and prompt sprints aim to help you have an array of content to craft in a short period of time!
Pop-Ups of All Kinds!
Art galleries are our first thought with this, but we believe there is opportunity for multimedia pop-ups with the right partners, so please reach out and let’s explore that path!
